Provincial Nominee Program

Canada operates a two-tiered immigration system, offering programs for skilled workers at federal and provincial levels. Through a network of Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), almost all of Canada’s ten provinces and three territories can nominate skilled worker candidates for immigration to Canada with the specific skills required by the local economies. Successful candidates who receive a provincial or territorial nomination can then apply for Canadian permanent residence through federal immigration authorities. This is an important component of all provincial programs.

Who is eligible

They have a job relevant to their studies.
The job is on the in-demand list and NOC 0, A, B.
They should have a contract of at least one year of full-time paid job.

How the process works

  1. EOI (Expression of Interest)

The first step is to apply for EOI. An English proficiency test is to be taken (General IELTS or CELPIP), and work experience or a job letter with a one-year contract is needed. The file enters the pool of applicants.

  2. Letter of Advice to Apply

Every month, either around the middle or end of the month, the draw system is applied once or twice, and the applicants who meet the set draw score will be given the Letter of Advice to Apply.

  3. MPNP application submission

The next step after the draw is to submit the complete file: education, English proficiency and Settlement Plan. The Settlement Plan is about the connection you can show towards the province. It should be convincing to the officer that the applicant will be settling in the province; the ties with the province should be detailed.

  4. MPNP Approval

After verifying the information and documents provided, the Province provides the approval.
